MAX3241EEAI+

MAX3241EEAI+ is a +3.0V-powered EIA/TIA-232 and V.28/V.24 communications interface device that features low power consumption, high data-rate capabilities, and enhanced electrostatic discharge (ESD) protection. A proprietary low-dropout transmitter output stage delivers true RS-232 performance from a +3.0V to +5.5V power supply, using an internal dual charge pump. The charge pump requires only four small 0.1µF capacitors for operation from a +3.3V supply. The MAX3241E is a complete serial port (three drivers/five receivers) designed for notebook and subnotebook computers. Applications include battery-powered equipment printers, cell phones smart phones, cell-phone data cables xDSL modems, notebook, subnotebook, and palmtop computers.

• Shutdown supply current is 1µA typical at (active-low SHDN = GND)
• Transmitter input hysteresis is 0.5V typical at (TA = +25°C)
• Input leakage current is ±0.01µA typical at (TA = +25°C)
• Receiver propagation delay is 0.15µs typical at (receiver input to receiver output, CL = 150pF)
• Transmitter skew is 100ns typical at (TA = +25°C)
• Transition-region slew rate is 30V/µs typical at (CL = 150pF to 1000pF, TA = +25°C)
• Receiver input resistance is 5Kohm typical at (TA = +25°C)
• Transmitter output short-circuit current is ±60mA maximum at (TA = +25°C)
• Operating temperature range from -40°C to +85°C, 28-lead SSOP package
