The MX7548JCWP+ is a CMOS, 8bit microprocessor compatible, 12bit DAC in 20 pin WSOIC package. The CMOS current output DAC with a versatile interface uses 8bit bus for interfacing microprocessors. It accepts data into its input register in two bytes in either left or right justified format. The standard write input, chip select most significant byte, chip select least significant byte inputs control the data load operation. A separate load DAC input controls transfer of data from the input register to the DAC register allowing for simultaneous update of all DACs in multi DAC systems. A data override input forces the DAC output to full scale or zero code without altering the contents of the input registers. This permits the user to perform DAC calibration conveniently without having to load calibration data into DAC. Typical applications include digitally controlled filters, programmable gain amplifiers, automatic test equipment, motion control systems and programmable power supplies.
