USB6B1

The USB6B1 from STMicroelectronics is a data line protection device in 8pin SOIC package. This device is used where transient overvoltage protection in sensitive equipment is required such as USB ports, RS423 interfaces, RS485 interfaces, ISDN equipment, T1/E1 line cards and HDSL / ASDL interfaces. It is used in order to prevent fast transients leading to severe damages in high speed data system. The USB6B1 protects two input lines against overvoltages and keeps the power rails in a safe limit. It provides protection for each line and between supply voltage and GND.

• Full diode bridge with integrated clamping protection
• Breakdown voltage (Vbr) of 6V between VBUS and GND
• Peak pulse power dissipation of 500W (8/20μs)
• Peak pulse current of 25A (8/20μs) and 40A (2/10μs)
• Very low capacitance and compatible with high debit data or signal rates
• High ESD protection up to level 3 per MIL STD 883C method 3015-6
• Separated inputs and outputs (4 point structure) to improve ESD susceptibility
• Comprehensive package pin-out for immediate implementation
• Complies with MIL STD 883C method 3015-6, IEC 61000-4-2 level 4
• Operating temperature range from -40°C to 85°C
