AD580 is a 3-terminal, low cost, temperature-compensated, bandgap voltage reference. A unique combination of advanced circuit design and laser-wafer trimmed thin film resistors provide the AD580 with an initial tolerance of ±0.4%, temperature stability of better than 10ppm/°C, and long-term stability of better than 250μV. In addition, the low quiescent current drain of 1.5mA maximum offers a clear advantage over classical Zener techniques. It is recommended as a stable reference for all 8-, 10-, and 12bit D/A converters that require an external reference. In addition, the wide input range of the AD580 allows operation with 5V logic supplies, making the AD580 ideal for digital panel meter applications or whenever only a single logic power supply is available.

• Error from nominal 2.500V output is ±75mV (max, VIN = 15 V and 25°C)
• Output voltage change TMIN to TMAX is 15mV, 85ppm/°C (max, VIN = 15V and 25°C, max)
• Line regulation is 1.5mV (typ, VIN = 15V and 25°C, 7V ≤ VIN ≤ 30V)
• Load regulation is 10mV (max, ∆I = 10mA, VIN = 15V and 25°C)
• Quiescent current is 1.0mA (typ, VIN = 15V and 25°C)
• Noise (0.1Hz to 10Hz) is 8µV p-p (typ, VIN = 15V and 25°C)
• Stability is 250µV (long term), 25µV (typ, per month, VIN = 15V and 25°C)
• ±75mV output voltage tolerance, 85ppm/°C temperature coefficient
• TO–52 package, operating temperature range from -55°C to +125°C
