EVAL-ADXL345Z

EVAL-ADXL345Z is a simple breakout board that enables easy connection of an ADXL345 into an existing system. The ADXL345 is a digital-output, 3-axis accelerometer whose low power consumption and built-in features make it ideal for use in a wide variety of applications. Due to its small size, the EVAL-ADXL345Z has minimal effect on performance of the system and of the accelerometer, and thus it is ideal for evaluation of the ADXL345 in an existing system. Note that the ADXL345 must be communicated with digitally via SPI or I2C. No processor is included with the EVAL-ADXL345Z, firmware must be supplied externally by the user. The EVAL-ADXL345Z has two sets of 2.54mm spaced vias, for population of a 4-pin and 5-pin header, for access to all power and signal lines. The vias or headers allow the evaluation board to be attached to a prototyping board (breadboard) or attached to the PCB in an existing system.

• Four holes are provided for mechanical attachment of the EVAL-ADXL345Z to the application
• An external host processor is required for communication to the part
• Dimension is 20mm × 20mm with mounting holes set 15mm × 15mm at corners of printed circuit board

EVAL-ADXL345Z is not reverse polarity protected. Reversing the VS or VDD I/O supply and GND pins can cause damage to the ADXL345.
