LT1256CN#PBF is a 40MHz video fader and DC gain-controlled amplifier. It makes excellent electronically controlled variable gain amplifiers, filters, mixers, and faders. The only external components required are the power supply bypass capacitors and the feedback resistors. Absolute gain accuracy is trimmed at wafer sort to minimize part-to-part variations. The circuit is completely temperature-compensated. It does not have this on/off feature and operates linearly over the complete control range. It is recommended for applications requiring more than 20dB of linear control range. It is used in applications such as composite video gain control, RGB, YUV video gain control, video faders, keyers, gamma correction amplifiers, audio gain control, faders, multipliers, modulators, and electronically tunable filters.

- Slew rate is 300V/µs typical at (VIN = ±2.5V, VO at ±2V, RL = 150 ohm)
- Propagation delay is 10ns typ at (VO = 100mV), settling time is 65ns typ at (0.1%, ∆VO = 2V)
- Input offset voltage is 3mV typical at (0°C ≤ TA ≤ 70°C, VS = ±5V, VCM = 0V)
- Supply current is 13.5mA typical at (VC = VFS = 2.5V, 0°C ≤ TA ≤ 70°C, VS = ±5V, VCM = 0V)
- Large-signal voltage gain is 93dB typical at (VO = -3V to 3V, RL = 150 ohm)
- Input noise voltage density is 2.7nV/√Hz typical at (f = 1KHz, 0°C ≤ TA ≤ 70°C, VS = ±5V, VCM = 0V)
- Common mode rejection ratio is 61dB typ at (VCM = -3V to 3V, 0°C ≤ TA ≤ 70°C, VS = ±5V, VCM = 0V)
- Wide supply voltage range from ±2.5V to ±15V, differential gain is 0.02% typical
- Operating temperature range from -40°C to 85°C, 14-lead PDIP package
