MAX31827ANTABRPF+T is a low-power temperature switch with an I²C interface. It can be used as a temperature switch with preconfigured thresholds and/or as a temperature sensor with an I²C interface. When the part operates as an independent temperature switch, I²C interface doesn't have to be used. This enables the use of the part in systems that require thermal protection implemented in hardware, without the need for reconfiguration or use of software/firmware during normal operation. One-time programmable ALARM functionality enables the use of part as a safety mechanism in systems where power dissipation is a challenge. The I2C/SMBus-compatible serial interface accepts standard write and read commands to read the temperature data and configure the behaviour of the sensor. Bus timeout resets interface if the clock is low for more than 30ms (nominal). Applications include battery-powered equipment, handheld electronics, data communications equipment, servers, and industrial equipment.
