IRAUDAMP17

IRAUDAMP17 is a reference design of 100W/4ohm x 2 channel Class D audio power amplifier using the IR4302. This reference design demonstrates how to use the IR4302 IC with single power supply, implement protection circuits, and design an optimum PCB layout using PowIRaudio integrated Class D IC. This reference design does not require additional heatsink or fan cooling for normal operation (one-eighth of continuous rated power). The reference design provides all the required housekeeping power supplies for ease of use. The two channel design is scalable for power and the number of channels. Typical applications include AV receivers, home theatre systems, mini component stereos, powered speakers, sub-woofers, musical instrument amplifiers and car audio amplifiers.

• 100W x 2 ch (10%THD+N 4ohm load; with heatsink) and 60W x 2 ch (10%THD+N 4ohm load; no heatsink)
• Over-current protection (OCP), high side and low side over-voltage protection (OVP)
• Under-voltage protection (UVP)
• high side and low side over-temperature protection (OTP)
• Self-oscillating half-bridge topology
• Supply voltages of 40V to 52V with heatsink and 30V to 42V without heatsink
• 400KHz self-oscillating frequency at no input signal, adjustable
• 24.8dB gain setting at 1Vrms input yields rated power
• 65mA idling supply current at no input signal
• 3.4W total idle power consumption at no input signal
