MIKROE-6624 is a Smart Buck 8 Click compact add-on board that provides a high-current step-down power solution for embedded systems. It is based on the TPS6286B08, a high-frequency synchronous 8A step-down converter with an I2C interface from Texas Instruments. This Click board™ supports an input voltage range from 2.4V to 5.5V with a green VIN LED indicator, and offers an output voltage adjustable from 0.4V to 1.675V in fine 5mV dynamic voltage scaling steps via I2C. It features DCS-Control architecture for excellent transient response, a start-up voltage of 0.9V, integrated HICCUP short-circuit protection, thermal shutdown, and the innovative Click Snap format for flexible implementation. Smart Buck 8 Click is ideal for powering core voltages of FPGAs, CPUs, ASICs, and DSPs, as well as for machine vision cameras, IP network cameras, and solid-state drives. It is fully compatible with the mikroBUS™ socket and can be used on any host system supporting the mikroBUS™ standard.
