1P1FFC-USB-SERIAL is a 1ft (30cm) USB to serial adapter cable. Add RS-232 serial communication support to USB-A enabled Data Terminal Equipment (DTE - e.g., desktop or laptop), using this 1ft (30cm) straight-through USB to serial adapter cable. The USB serial adapter adds an RS-232 serial DB/DE-9 (male) connector to a desktop or laptop via a USB Type-A port. Secure the adapter to a serial device, using pre-installed and removable DB-9 nuts, or install the included slotted D-Sub thumbscrews for compatibility with other serial peripheral devices or cables. The data transmission and reception LED indicators on the adapter provide real-time monitoring of port activity. The USB LED indicates when the adapter has successfully enumerated on the desktop or laptop. All the LEDs aid with diagnostics and troubleshooting. The adapter is compatible with Windows, macOS, ChromeOS, and Linux. The drivers automatically install to Windows 7 and newer versions, macOS 10.15 and above, and Linux.
