LTC3416 is a high efficiency monolithic synchronous, step-down DC/DC converter utilizing a constant frequency, current mode architecture. The internal synchronous power switch with 67Mohm of on-resistance increases efficiency and eliminates the need for an external schottky diode. Switching frequency is set by an external resistor. OPTI-LOOP® compensation allows the transient response to be optimized over a wide range of loads and output capacitors. It operates in forced continuous operation and provides tracking of another power supply rail. Forced continuous operation reduces noise and RF interference and provides excellent transient response. Fault protection is provided by an overcurrent comparator, and adjustable compensation allows the transient response to be optimized over a wide range of loads and output capacitors. It is widely used in application such as portable instruments, notebook computers, distributed power systems, battery-powered equipment, POL board power etc.
