MAX1482CPD+

MAX1482CPD+ is a full duplex, low-power transceiver for RS-485 and RS-422 communication. It features slew-rate-limited drivers that minimize EMI and reduce reflections caused by improperly terminated cables. Drivers are short-circuit current limited and are protected against excessive power dissipation by thermal shutdown circuitry that places the driver outputs into a high-impedance state. The receiver input has a fail-safe feature that guarantees a logic-high output if the input is open circuit. It is used in applications such as low-power RS-485/RS-422 networks, transceivers for EMI-sensitive applications, industrial-control local area networks, and large 256-node LANs.

• No-load supply current is 25µA typical at (VCC = 5V ±5%, TA = +25°C)
• Supply current in shutdown is 0.1µA typical at (DE = 0V, RE = VCC)
• Operating temperature range from 0°C to +70°C
• 14-pin PDIP package
