MAX22508EASA+ is a 50Mbps full-duplex RS-485/RS-422 transceiver with high EFT immunity. This device is optimized for high-speed communication upto 50Mbps. This transceiver features integrated hot-swap protection and a fail-safe receiver, ensuring a logic high on the receiver output when input signals are shorted or open for longer than 10μs (typ). Additionally, a large receiver hysteresis improves noise rejection and signal integrity. It is designed to operate in harsh industrial environments and is optimized for robust communication in environments with high levels of electromagnetic interference (EMI). It is used in applications such as motion control, encoder interfaces, field bus networks, industrial control systems, backplane busses.

- ±15kV ESD protection (human body model), ±7kV IEC 61000-4-2 air-gap ESD protection
- ±6kV IEC 61000-4-2 contact discharge ESD protection, driver outputs are short-circuit protected
- Supply voltage range from 3V to 5.5V, allows upto 200 transceivers on the bus
- Driver short circuit output current is 250mA maximum at (-15V ≤ VOUT ≤ +15V)
- Differential input capacitance is 50pF typical at (VCC = 3V to 5.5V, TA = TMIN to TMAX)
- Receiver input hysteresis is 250mV typical at (VCM = 0V, time from last transition is <lt/> tD-FS)
- Driver propagation delay is 32ns maximum at (RL = 54 ohm, CL = 50pF)
- Receiver propagation delay is 40ns maximum at (CL = 15pF)
- Operating temperature range from -40°C to +125°C, 8-lead SOIC package
