MAX3223CAP+T

MAX3223CAP+T is a transceiver with auto shutdown. It achieves 1µA supply current with Analog Device's revolutionary AutoShutdown™ feature. When the device does not sense a valid signal level on their receiver inputs, the on-board power supply and drivers shut down. This occurs if the RS-232 cable is disconnected or if the transmitters of the connected peripheral are turned off. The system turns on again when a valid level is applied to any RS-232 receiver input. It requires only 0.1µF capacitors in 3.3V operation, and can operate from input voltages ranging from +3.0V to +5.5V. A proprietary, high-efficiency, dual charge-pump power supply and a low-dropout transmitter combine to deliver true RS-232 performance from a single +3.0V to +5.5V supply. It is used in applications such as battery-powered equipment, hand-held equipment, peripherals, and portable diagnostics equipment.

• Input hysteresis(receiver inputs) is 0.3V typical at (VCC = +3.0V to +5.5V, C1–C4 = 0.1µF)
• Maximum data rate is 235Kbps typical at (RL = 3Kohm, CL = 1000pF, one transmitter switching)
• Receiver propagation delay is 0.3µs typical at (receiver input to receiver output, CL = 150pF)
• Transition-region slew rate is 8V/µs typical at (CL = 200pF to 2500pF, TA = +25°C)
• Operating temperature range from 0°C to +70°C, 20-lead SSOP package
