MAX5910ESA+

The MAX5910ESA+ is a fully integrated +65V simple swapper hot swap switch for positive supply rails in 8 pin NSOIC package. This device allows safe insertion and removal of circuit cards into live backplanes or ports without causing glitches on backplane power supply rail. It also monitors various circuit parameters and disconnect load if a fault condition occurs by alerting the host with logic level active-low IFAULT output. During start-up, an internal 2.2ohm power FET regulates current between backplane power source and load to 280mA. After start-up, the FET is fully enhanced to reduce its on-resistance. To ensure robust operation, the MAX5910 contains built-in safety features that prevent damage to internal FET. It includes an enable input which responds to positive logic signals (3.3V or 5V) allowing host system to disconnect load. The MAX5910 is used in IP phones, power-over-LAN, power-over-MDI, remote power distribution, internet appliances, network routers and switches.

• Supply current of 1.2mA at VIN = 10V to 65V and continuous operating output current of 240mA
• Status output reports fault conditions
• Internal switch protection circuitry and built-in thermal shutdown
• Maximum DMOS on-resistance of 4ohm at IOUT = 200mA
• Monitors fault conditions such as UVLO, power not good, zero current detection & thermal shutdown
